Epistle of Paul to the Philippians

Chapter 1
Paul greets the saints in Christ Jesus which are in Philippi, while he is imprisoned in Rome. He expresses gratitude to the saints.
Paul writes
[12] But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;
[13] So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places;
Cross reference with Romans 8
[28] And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purposes.
Chapter 2

Paul teaches
[10] That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
[11] And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
He also teaches
[12] Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Paul plans to send Timothy and Epaphroditus to the saints at Philippi. Epaphroditus had been sick, but the Lord had mercy upon him.
 Chapter 3
Paul describes himself
[5] Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
Paul teaches the resurrection
[20] For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
[21] Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
Chapter 4
Paul teaches of finding peace through Jesus Christ.
[7] And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
[8] Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
[9] Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
